GUARDSCAN B SERIES LIGHT CURTAINS
The B Series light curtain is the ideal solution for a wide range of applications. It consists of just two small units, the emitter and receiver, which produce a fail-safe infra-red curtain across the area to be protected. The scan is optically synchronised by one of the beams and so there is no need for a third electronic unit or any interconnected cables between columns.
The receiver unit has fail-safe solid state PNP outputs. These are ideal for use with fail-safe PLCs to produce an integrated machine control and safety system and can easily be used in conjunction with Guardscan's SRU units or proprietary emergency stop relay units to obtain relay outputs, feedback, restart interlock, etc.
The curtain is also capable of operating in 'beam blanking' mode. In these modes, selected areas of the curtain's sensing field can be disabled to allow for obstructions such as workpiece supports.
COST-EFFECTIVE, INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS FOR SAFEGUARDING ACCESS TO DANGEROUS MACHINES FROM GUARDSCAN
Guardscans B series family of Type 4 safety light curtains has now been extended to include 2, 3 and 4 beam models. With a 30m operating range, the new additions are ideal for guarding access to dangerous machines such as palletisers and conveyors. For increased flexibility, B Series multi-beam light curtains can be used in conjunction with mirrors to give two and three-sided guarding configurations. Known simply as B2, B3 and B4, the position of the beams is designed to comply with the recommendations of the European Standard EN999 in terms of intrusion under, over or through the barrier.
THE NEW SICK S3000 LASER SCANNER WITH EVEN MORE FEATURES The S3000 laser scanner is the successor to the very successful PLS. The S3000 can be used for horizontal or vertical safeguarding of hazardous areas in compliance with Type 3 of IEC/EN 61496-3. The new features include a new modular concept which allows the S3000 to be configured to fit the specific application requirements.
